Chatelaines F373

Chatelaine. Ormolu/pinchbeck chatelaine, French cir 1760. the belt hook and three pendants, a scissor case, needle case and complete fitted case. Size 9ins or 23cms. The reposer decoration is in the renaissance style. There are Venus with her quiver of arrows with Cupid. On the compendium there is the god Mercury with wings on hos hat, baskets of flowers and general garlands. Harlequin is on the reverse. All three pieces have formalised garlands and trails. Inside the compendium are a spoon, scissors, pen and tablet, and pen knife. all in excellent condition with beautiful original gilding.
