    Combined needle case and thimble holder. Possibly French c.1850. Carved wood, probably ebony, set with gold rivets. Ivory finial to needle case. Top unscrews to reveal ivory thimble. Made like a lamp with four silvering windows.

    Silver thimble to give scale.
