Embroidered card case

Embroidered card case and related billet-doux paper holder.

Card case is embroidered on both sides, with different birds on foliage. Oyster satin inside pockets for cards. Attached original pencil for notes. Billet- doux paper holder. Dated 1799, the packet unfolds to reveal a little note in elegant copper plate writing which says approx ‚If Knife or Pen or ought offend. So either case the kind constant hand may no greater offer than the small enclosed‚. There is a tiny envelope with ultra fine cut paper flower roundel.
